Playgroup SA offers practical, professional advice and support, training and development including additional needs services, broad insurance coverage, play resources and playgroup workshops among other services.Playgroup SA has achieved a significant transition, balancing its cottage industry heritage of over 45 years with a powerful new and more authoritative business identity. We are now recognised as an invaluable strategic asset for a new extended stakeholder, partner, and benefactor network. Our objective is to nurture young children, support and connect families, and build stronger communities through high quality playgroups across the state.In February 2023 Playgroup SA achieved certification through external assessment with the Australian Service Excellent Standards. "Overall, the ASES assessment of Playgroups SA demonstrated that the organisation has and will likely continue to evolve into an organised, positive and service oriented place of work" About the OpportunityPlaygroup SA is seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Director to their established governing Board. This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join a passionate team on a voluntary basis and help develop and shape an exciting future for the playgroup movement in South Australia.Essential skills include the ability to think and influence strategically and a capacity to work collaboratively with other Board members and with the CEO and their team. Importantly, the successful candidate will demonstrate a clear understanding of and passion for the work that playgroups do for children, families, and the broader community. A commitment to the strategic vision and values of Playgroup SA, as well as knowledge of not-for-profit and the community services sectors is required. An AICD qualification would be highly regarded.Appointments will be made based upon the need to ensure that there is an appropriate mix of skills, experience, and diversity on the Board.
