We’re small enough to care, and big enough to handle solutions for large projects.The PositionWe’re seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide overall leadership to switchboard projects, and manage the design/manufacturing program to an effective and successful conclusion. This role will suit someone who relishes the opportunity to deliver exceptional projects for our clients, and who isn’t afraid to think outside the box. Your key responsibilities will include:Overseeing and developing switchboard designs based on customer/consultant requirements and project estimatesLiaising with clients regarding design approval and any variations during construction and manufacturingLiaising with customers and working to develop and maintain customer relationships.Monitoring workshop construction and fit out, and inspecting completed projects prior to dispatchEstablishing and maintaining accurate, easily-accessible files for all project documentation.Ideally, our successful candidate will have:Specialist switchboard design experience (Low Voltage)Expert knowledge of switchboard standards, electrical standards and wiring rules, ideally along with knowledge of the switchboard manufacturing processAn ability to interpret single line diagrams and schematicsProject management experience, along with experience leading small teamsExcellent communication/interpersonal and customer service skills, supported by effective trouble shooting skills.An ability to manage the competing demands of multiple simultaneous projects including project scheduling, delivery, and stakeholder management.Advanced computer skills including AutoCAD, and MS Office suite.While not absolutely essential, our ideal candidate will also have an Electrical Trade or Electrical Engineering qualification.In return, we offer an attractive salary package for the appropriate candidate, along with the opportunity to work in the beautiful Blue Mountains as part of a highly respected and well-established business. Part-time and/or hybrid work arrangements are a possibility for the right candidate.Sound like the challenge you’ve been looking for?
